The Tuner
The TUNER should be used as you practice long tones. Long Tones are necessary for you to determine your Pitch Tenancies: what notes you play that are registering on the tuner as Flat (b) or Sharp (#). The goal is for every pitch to be perfectly in tune. |
The Metronome
Every time you practice your instrument when reading rhythm & counting you should ALWAYS use the METRONOME. It ensures that you are playing and counting at a constant and consistent speed called the Tempo. Timing is not natural therefore you must train your timing with a metronome. |
